Principal's Welcome

Welcome to Lower Primary and HKIS! We are delighted that you and your child have joined our Lower Primary community. In the days and months ahead, I hope you will come to see that we are a caring learning community that believes in creating an environment that stimulates and enriches the growth, potential and development of each child. At HKIS we are proud of our school’s mission: Dedicating our minds to inquiry, our hearts to compassion, and our lives to service and global understanding.

This July I will begin my second year as Lower Primary Principal, and I am thrilled to share my passion for early childhood education and school life. I am honored to be part of a community of educators dedicated to connection, collaboration, and constant learning. I know you will quickly see and feel how your child is valued and celebrated by our talented teachers. Transitions can be challenging, but our dynamic Lower Primary administrative team is here to support you and your family in any way we can. We have a school counselor at each grade level, learning specialists, and instructional coaches to help support your child's social emotional development of learning outcomes. As community members, there are many ways to get involved and connected. For new parents, we encourage you to get involved with our community groups. The Parent Community Trust (PTC) is our parent-led organization that empowers parents to be active partners in school life, while the Advancement office creates a culture of philanthropy that invites all HKIS families and alumni to participate. Together, these groups work to support the educational experience of Lower Primary School families.
